WPC Boom Pop Park

Woodland Park Communities (WPC) is low-income apartment complex located in East Palo Alto. In collaboration with WPC and SITELAB urban studio, the LMNOP team designed this pop-up public park known as Boom Pop Park. Through a series of focus groups and community engagements, we listened to residents’ ideas and feedback throughout the design process. The park features a walking-biking track, specifically designed as a place where kids can safely learn to ride bikes. Our designs opted to using large scale plywood for furniture elements and metal pipe scaffolding systems for the large scale structures to fit within their budget. My focus included detailing, CNC routing and fabrication of the plywood furniture along with planning and fabricating the scaffolding structures.
